A Kiss Is Just A Kiss
We attended the Miranda Lambert concert last night at Fort Sill. It was a great concert. But it was evident how much times have changed.
We arrived and didn't plan to drink any beer so we strapped on a "Designated Driver" wrist band. I had never seen one of these before, in the old days the wrist bands just had your contact number on them. "In case of emergency call my parents at 555-555-1212."
They were selling candy, yep candy at a concert, "Attention, let me have your attention. Don't eat the red Skittles. The red Skittles are bad" And Lynna wouldn't let me have any candy at all.....
30 years ago I actually said "Mic check", "check, check", "mic check", through The Who's sound system. It was pushing about 50,000 watts or something like that. I couldn't hear for a week but it was just one of those things. Last night we sat in the front row 30 feet from a "little" sound system and it made my heart skip a few beats occasionally.
All in all the entire concert was very memorable.
The most memorable part was when I began speaking to a young lady in the VIP section and we had to lean close to hear each other over the music. When I turned to Lynna after talking to the young lady I said, "That is the first time since we have been married that I wanted to kiss another woman."
"Excuse me?" she replied. (I might add that she didn't sound nearly as concerned as I thought she should.) "We were talking and the closer I leaned toward her the more I wanted to stick my tongue in her mouth. Her breath smelled just like a Mr. Goodbar. Exactly like a Mr. Goodbar."
"You're not right, you know that don't you?" She said while slowly shaking her head.
Lynna was quiet for a few minutes as she looked at the young lady. I began to think she had decided to be concerned about this encroachment into her "territory" by this young lady. As I turned my attention back to the stage, I smiled inwardly as my self esteem was bolstered.
Then Lynna leaned toward me and said, "It was Peanut M&M's not a Mr. Goodbar."
Son of a b..... M&M's are my favorite.
