Oklahoma Door Standers

What is the fascination with standing in the doorway or the entrance to an isle in the store? This is for sure an Okie thing. Even our dogs do it.

I have been other places, like Dallas and even Kansas City once and didn't have the problem. Evidently in Oklahoma there is no fire code.hellmart

Anywhere you go in Oklahoma someone has decided to impede traffic to and or from somewhere or  something. There will be an entire family blocking the chip and nut isle at mercado de diablo or as the the rest of us know it Market of the Devil. And they just stand there. Not moving just standing there looking around drooling on their marching windbreakers made from Members Only tall kitchen garbage bags. If you look at them in the eye they just look back at you as if to say, "There's another end to this isle."
(Only they would call it a row.)

I defy you to find one large gathering in Oklahoma that is held inside that has an unclogged door way. There will be at least four people stationed directly under the door frame. You would think they were in L.A. waiting for the earthquake. I guess that's why when talking about an event that is happening inside a building we say, "We are having it "in doors"."
